There has been a lot of talk lately about the Great Rob Gronkowski, TE for the New England Patriots, and his perceived inability to remain off the Injured Reserve list. Many claim to believe that his record of injuries over the past couple of years qualifies him to be listed among injury-prone overrateds such as Michael Vick and Ben Roethlisberger.

One such critic, Tony Manfred a writer for Business Insider Online, went so far as to state that

“Gronkowski is just too injury-prone to be the superstar it looked like he’d turn into two years ago.”

Granted, with injuries including an ACL, MCL, forearm fracture, and a herniated lumbar disc to name a few, the cards do appear to be stacked against him.

But this is Rob Gronkowski we are talking about here people!

If being a two-time Pro Bowler, favorite target of QB legend Tom Brady, and possessor of the TE touchdown record (17 in a single year) weren’t enough to rally faith behind his July 18, 2014 declaration that he is “planning on playing the whole season this year,” than his very name alone should. He’s a Gronkowski for crying out loud; arguably one of the most talented blood lines in all of NFL history! His father literally shot tennis balls at him and his brothers while growing up to help them with their dexterity.

Regardless, coming off of an ACL and MCL surgery is no easy task and will require the 25 year old TE hotshot to focus all of his energy into keeping himself healthy. Fortunately for the 6’7 University of Arizona graduate, there is a lot of energy to be harnessed. If anyone can do it, it’s Super Gronk.

This writer, for one, believes that Gronkowski has the ability to not only complete the entire 2014 season without an appearance on IR, but will make it his best year yet.

Prediction: 19 touchdowns, three-time Pro Bowler, and a shiny new Super Bowl XLVIII ring!

Get ready NFL fans…the Gronk is back!
