2021 NFL Draft Prospects to keep an Eye on: Offensive Edition
Are you over 2020 like I am? I decided to distract myself with sports for a second with all the madness going on in the world today. For this exercise, I decided to look ahead to the 2021 NFL Draft prospects and see some talented kids next in line. You already have a small sample size of college names to watch for if you follow the NFL or college football. I dug a little deeper to see if I could find some more.
QB
Desmond Ridder
The 6’4 215-pound signal-caller from Cincinnati has a live arm, complete with proper looking ball placement and velocity. Add in the ability to make plays with his legs, and you’ve got an intriguing prospect.
RB
Journey Brown
Another in the growing list of outstanding athletes at Running Back for Penn State. Brown is a wonderful blend of breakaway speed and power, mixed with vision and receiver ability.
WR
Josh Imatorbhebhe
The 6’2 215 pound USC transfer averaged 19 yards per catch last season and scored nine touchdowns for Illinois. He has the route running ability, speed, and hands to replicate that production and add his name to a deep and still growing 2021 WR list.
Tre Walker
Averaged 18 yards per catch in his sophomore season and had over 1100 yards receiving in his junior year. Walker has the speed to burn as well as standout route-running ability.
Tyler Vaughns
With some high profile receivers at USC, it was easy to think of Tyler Vaughns as the forgotten man. But I’m positive opposing defenders remember his name. His combination of excellent body control and fluidity make him a fun study this season.
Emeka Emezie
The 6’3 210 has impressive suddenness and change of direction for a man his size. He also plays with aggression and strength at the catch point that’ll make scouts rave and coaches drool.
TE
Charlie Kolar
Kolar broke out in his sophomore year for Iowa State to the tune of nearly 700 yards receiving and seven touchdowns. Kolar is a huge target at 6’6 252, with the ability to move around an offensive formation.
OL
Cade Mays
Eye-popping athletic ability, tremendous strength, Tackle/Guard versatility all packed into a 6’6 318-pound frame. Mays will make his mark transferring to an already talented Tennessee offensive line. The intrigue will be at what position.
