Home NFLAFC WestDenver Broncos NFL’s Best Triplets?

The term “Triplets” aka Big 3 has been apart of sports for decades. When referencing triplets in the NFL, the Triple B’s from the Pittsburgh Steelers come to mind. Antonio Brown, Leveon Bell, & Ben Roethlisberger are featured in the steel city triple threat. The Steelers are without Leveon Bell (holding out for new contract), and that leaves the top triplet slot up for grabs. I can hear the different fan bases yelling at this article right now about their favorite team’s triple threat. The Giants, Chiefs, Jaguars, and Broncos can all make an argument for this crown. Is there a new Sheriff in town? Let’s head to Minnesota!! Did I say Minneapolis, Minnesota? Yes, I did, the newest and best Triplet is the Vikings offensive threesome. Kirk Cousins, Adam Thielen, & Stefon Diggs are the triple threat in football right now.  Of course, Ryan Fitzmagic, D-Jax, & Mike Evans are on a tear right now, but there’s no way the flame burns for the entirety of the season.

Theilen & Diggs were listed as the 2nd best receiver tandem by NFL.com behind Antonio Brown & Juju Smith-Schuster. Let’s crunch some numbers, the Steel City tandem has a combined 60 targets, 36 receptions, 400 yards, & 2 touchdowns. Although the volume is there, the efficiency isn’t. The Vikings tandem has combined for 44 targets, 30 receptions, 404 yards & 4 touchdowns. This tandem is efficient and as dangerous as they come. Replacing Case Keenum for Kirk Cousins was the biggest move of the off-season. Kirk was brought in to upgrade the quarterback position and during last Sunday’s showdown in Green Bay, he proved why he was brought in. He finished the day, 35-48 425 yards 4 tds 1interception. That performance displayed the growing chemistry between this explosive trio.

The play below display the element Cousins adds the “Long Ball”, he has a live arm and will go for the deep shot when it’s there.

This next play displays the connection between Cousins and Thielen on a beautiful pass for the game tying touchdown.

In conclusion, the questions surrounded this team, offense, and signal caller after inking the fully guaranteed 84 million dollar deal. Although it is early, I believe Kirk is answering those questions one game at a time. The new kids on the block are here to stay.
