Hall of Fame Game Preview

The annual Hall of Fame Game airs tonight at 8pm E.T. on NBC. The Baltimore Ravens will do battle vs the Chicago Bears. There are a few things that I will be watching for in this game. Here is a quick preview of tonight’s matchup.

The Lamar Show

Since the Ravens chose to select Quarterback Lamar Jackson in the first round of April’s draft, the hype around him & SB MVP Joe Flacco has grown like wildfire. Tonight, I expect very little of Flacco. I anticipate we will see more of Lamar Jackson. I’m excited to see the ways offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg will deploy Jackson. The athletic signal caller will have fans oozing with anticipation on every snap. The key is the pitch count, how many snaps will the young play maker receive? How many reps will RG3 receive in his first action as a Raven? Tune in to find out.

Get Nagy with it

Na na na na na na na nana, sorry I had a childhood flashback. Matt Nagy is the new offensive mastermind in the league. Pairing him with his second year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has given everyone the McVay/Goff vibe. The excitement of Nagy’s offense is off the charts. This offense is not only ground and pound anymore, they have the weapons outside to be high flying. In the first preseason game the offenses will be vanilla and hold the wild cards close to the vest. Nagy will provide reasons for the Bears fans to remain excited about his first year as head coach. I am extremely anxious to see rookie receiver Anthony Miller. The former Memphis Tiger has the route running ability, speed, and toughness to be a productive slot receiver early on. How Nagy uses him, AR15, & Taylor Gabriel will be key to the offenses overall success.

Players to watch

Allen Robinson, Anthony Miller, Adam Shaheen, Lamar Jackson, Hayden Hurst, Tyus Bowser, & Anthony Averrett. A mixture of rookies, second year players, and veterans. These teams have intriguing young talent and I am excited to watch them play tonight.
