Fantasy: Is today the day to start Hurns?

Anyone her as frustrated with the letdown each week in fantasy football? Take Odell Beckham Jr. for instance. The one-hand-catch-phenom was putting up 17-25 pts per game last season. The first two weeks of the season, he a has a huge drop and all we have seen is salsa dancing, due to Victor Cruz’s exponential return. Then, of course, there is the rookie catching a great deal of Eli Manning’s attention. That’s not what I’m here for today. I want to focus on a “**** or get off the pot” player. We all know Odell Beckham will get his eventually, but my focus is on Allen Hurns.

All is well outside of fantasy

Hurn was supposed to be the guy that excelled to a monster level this year. He signed a 5-year 40-million dollar contract because the Jacksonville Jaguars believe in him. His level of play so far has not been on the 40-million dollar level as NO. 2 WR has only caught 9 of 15 targets through two games. Jaguars fans are ok with the numbers, as long as he is handling business at critical times in the game, unlike week one where he was key in the loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Coleman did it, so…

We fantasy fans are pretty ticked off, though. I know I spent at least a sixth-round draft pick on this guy, and I have not seen the teens in production from him yet. Week three is the week folks! It is imperative that he show up against the Baltimore Ravens. Charm City let Corey Coleman see paydirt twice, during the last week matchup. The first-year player totaled out 22.40 FPS on the day for my buddy Treyology. That was not on just one corner either. Both of the former Baylor player’s TDs were on Jimmy Smith and Shareece Wright. My expectation is that with the two best receivers in football inviting these two corners to town, there are points to be had.

Frustration building

Based on the FPS production from Hurns as of late I was tempted to pull him from the flex and bench the former Miami player, but I feel this is the day. If Hurns does not produce a TD today, I am not only benching the guy, but I am cutting him and looking elsewhere for a flex. Is this emotion driven? You bet your bottom dollar it is. I’m 0-2 in my league, and I demand results! Get it together Hurns!
