Draft Profile: Nasir Adderley

by EUGENE Holt

Nasir Adderley, Safety, Delaware

Height-Weight: 5’11 200 lbs

Games Watched: Elon (18), North Dakota State (18), Lafayette (18)

Positives: First thing that you notice about Nasir Adderley is his aggressive demeanor. Whether it’s running over a would be tackler and stepping back to admire his work or taking the time to grip up an offensive linemen during a play that is nowhere close to him, all throughout the tape of Adderley are random acts of aggression. Not the type that’ll draw a penalty but the type that set the tone on defense.

Covering the slot, deep middle responsibility, stepping up into the box, man coverage, you name it, Adderley is adept at every facet of the Safety position. He shows physicality with solid form tackling, he shows excellent ball skills to either break up the pass or take it for himself and he shows the speed and range to cover large areas.

Coach Him Up: The main concern with Adderley would probably be level of competition. Playing at Delaware he hardly lined up against five star recruits week in and week out.

Overall: Nasir Adderley is a great talent to have. He’s scheme versatility and competitive nature will have defensive coordinators drooling. Once he adjusts to the speed of the NFL game, he’ll make his presence known early and often.
